Portable Labeling Machines
Portable labeling machines provide employees with the ability to label as needed, on the spot, without going back to the office and firing up a PC. Many companies keep these on hand as a supplemental option to a larger label printer. Portable units range in size but many are handheld and can be stored in a tool belt, tool box, or large pocket. They are typically capable of printing labels up to 2” (maximum width varies based on model). They are a very inexpensive option.
Handheld labelers are self-contained so they can go where you go; internal memory stores graphics and data and the onscreen display provides a visual while creating the label. Text is input via its onboard keypad and it runs on an internal battery so no peripheral devices or connections are needed to create and print a label. (Devices may be connected to a PC or electricity and their batteries may be rechargeable; specific features depend on model.)
